Syracuse, N.Y. — A Syracuse man sold fentanyl, meth and guns, including some he brought from Maine to sell on the streets of Syracuse, prosecutors said.
Uqoeon Lawrence, 28, admitted to four charges in federal court Friday related to firearm trafficking and possession of drugs and guns according to a release from the Northern District of New York court.
On June 26, 2023, a search warrant was executed on Lawrence’s apartment at 250 Thurber St., prosecutors said in a criminal complaint. They found Lawrence inside as well as a shotgun and bricks of fentanyl.
He had over nine grams of drugs or 0.3 ounces, prosecutors said.
During questioning Lawrence admitted to police he has sold fentanyl, meth and pills laced with fentanyl, cocaine and crack cocaine, prosecutors said. He also admitted that the gun was given to him by a indebted customer, prosecutors said.
He knew he wasn’t allowed to have a gun because he is a convicted felon, prosecutors said. Lawrence said that he was selling guns because he was in-between jobs at the time, prosecutors said.
Lawrence plead guilty to several charges including possession and distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, and interstate firearms trafficking, prosecutors said.
He also pleaded guilty to other charges related to him bringing guns from Maine to sell on the street of Syracuse, prosecutors said.
He faces a minimum of 15 to life for all of the charges, prosecutors said.
